A Four-Week Zen Practice Intensive

Plunge into the essence of Zen with our eight-week Practice Intensive. The intensive is designed to deepen your zazen and cultivate connection with community. We will offer a variety of ways to stretch your practice and engage with our Sangha. The Sunday Sangha Teas are for registered Practice Intensive participants only. All other events are open to everyone.
Practice Intensive Offerings
🍵 Sangha Teas: Share in the warmth of community during our Sangha teas on Sunday mornings. Mark your calendars for 3/8 and 3/22. Following regular service, these gatherings promise a blend of serene companionship and sharing. To formally be part of Practice Intensive, we ask that at a minimum you commit to attending one of the two teas.
🧘♀️ Weekday Morning Zazen: Start your day with clarity and peace by joining us for two periods of zazen at beginning at 6 am, or join us by 6:40 am for one period. The daily practice of zazen is the heart of Zen, offering a space to cultivate intimate awareness and grounded presence.
💎 Monday Night Zoom Class with Eden on the Diamond Sutra: Over the course of four Monday evenings, 7 – 8:15 pm, we will be introduced to the Diamond Sutra. A foundational text for Zen students, the sutra challenges us to get out of our self-centered dream and live in the body of all being. See our Wisdom resources page.
🌳 Way-seeking Mind Talks: Members of Richmond Zen who are preparing for the Bodhisattva Initiation Ceremony will offer talks on how they came to practice and what keeps them practicing. Dates TBA.
☸️ Dharma Talks and More: Engage with the teachings and insights of Dharma through talks that encourage understanding and practice. Eden will give two Dharma talks. Dates TBA.
This intensive is a precious chance to extend your practice within a supportive and vibrant community. Whether you are looking to deepen your meditation practice, understand Zen teachings more thoroughly, or simply find a community of inquiry-minded individuals, this intensive is for you.
